In response to a plea for help last week in the Richmond County Daily Journal, more than 1,000 pounds of food and litter were donated in addition to almost $1,000.

With 150 or more animals to care for every day at the shelter, donations of animal food, cat litter, cleaning supplies and newspapers are an ever present need.
