Convenience store robbed in Rockingham

A Richmond County convenience store was robbed at gun point Aug. 8 by a man whose identity was concealed.

There were five victims during the robbery, including the clerk on duty. The man’s identity was obscured and he carried a small pistol as he stole $114.79 in cash from the cash register.

No other personal property was stolen or destroyed during the incident and no one was injured.

Other arrests by Rockingham police include:

-Holly Lindsey Jermaine, 36, Hunter Circle, Rockingham, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of Driving While Impaired, misdemeanor Driving while License Revoked and misdemeanor Careless and Reckless Driving. She was released on a written promise to appear in court.

-Gerron Levare Foster, 29, Waymon Chapel Road, Hamlet, was charged with misdemeanor Assault on a Female and misdemeanor Injury to Personal Property.

-Shannon Jermaine Everett, 31, North Stewart Street, Rockingham, was charged with Simple Assault.

-Brian Steven Myers, 28, Washington Street, Rockingham, was charged with Felony Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle and misdemeanor Larceny. A secured bond of $3,000 was set.

-Ronnie Lynn Blackmon, 46, Handcock Road, Rockingham, was charged with Felony Financial Card Fraud after stealing a debit card from a victim and using it to make purchases. Bond was set at $5,000.

-William Henry Streeter III, 33, Fieldcrest Lane, Hamlet, was charged with misdemeanor Failure to Appear. Bond was set at $500.

-Sabrina Lashaun Dumas, 18, Armstead Street, Rockingham, was charged with misdemeanor domestic trespassing.

-Shirley Heard Edens, 45, Oak Avenue, Rockingham, was charged with misdemeanor second-degree trespassing. She was released with a written promise to appear in court.

-Jason Donnell McDonald, 27, East Washington Street, Rockingham, was arrested on a misdemeanor Misuse of 911, misdemeanor Communicating Threats and misdemeanor Resisting Public Officials. Bond was set at $2,500.

-Lonnie Breeden, 42, South Skipper Street, Rockingham, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor Assault on a Female.

-Michelle Benton, 20, Greenbriar Lane, Rockingham and Ashley Wilkes, 25, Luther Street, Rockingham, were arrested on Felony Larceny by Employee charges. Bond has been set for $5,000.

-Kenneth Ray Doctor, 49, Armstead Street, Rockingham, has been charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon after a confrontation with another individual. He was later released with a written promise to appear in court.

-Charles Anthony Kershaw, 35, Winston Salem Street, Rockingham, was charged with misdemeanor Driving With Licensee Revoked and misdemeanor Driving a Motor Vehicle with No Registration. Bond was set at $2000.

Incidents reported to Rockingham police include:

-A resident on Cauthen Drive, Rockingham, reported $140 cash stolen after someone had broken into their car.

-A business on East Broad Street, Rockingham , reported $600.00 in cash was stolen from after someone broke a window into the building.

-A tan Ford pick-up truck was stolen from Fayetteville Road, Rockingham, valued at $1500. Along with the vehicle, a $100 air compressor was stolen.

-A purse valued at approximately $165 was lost/stolen out of a shopping cart at a retail establishment on East Broad Street, Rockingham.

-A vehicle fire in a retail store parking lot on East Broad Street, Rockingham, caused damage to two vehicles while both customers were inside. Vehicle damage is estimated at $2700.

-A vehicle on Elizabeth Avenue, Rockingham, had $10 worth of property stolen after the gas cap was removed and stolen.

-An Oak Avenue, Rockingham, resident reported a bicycle worth $275 stolen.

-A woman on Shannon Drive, Rockingham, reported a man stalking her at her place employment and her home.

-A business on Boone Street, Rockingham, was robbed by three armed males and stole $90 in cash.

-Prescription Valium valued at $20 was stolen from a woman at a business on East Broad Street, Rockingham.

-A Pineridge Road resident had $10 worth of Percocet stolen out of her purse.

-An industrial business on East Broad Street had property valued at $3850 stolen. -A residence on Westwood Drive was victim to Breaking and Entering, Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicle and Larceny as $1484 worth of property was stolen from the premises.

-Clothing and other assorted property was stolen from a retail business on East Broad Street, Rockingham. The amount stolen totaled $86.39.
