Health insurance used as a tool

The King and his court will soon be back in session and working diligently to get his health care plan passed.

Obama has appointed 30-plus Czars to carry out the duties of his Kingdom, taking his number of Czars to an unprecedented level. Senior Senator Robert Byrd calls it “unconstitutional.”

Now with the czars and a court jester, Joe Biden, Obama’s court is complete. The court jester can keep Americans laughing while the king and his health-care Czar pass the new health plan that no one has read.

Not one Senator in this administration would buy a car without reading the contract yet they will sign this bill without knowing what is in it. This is a disservice to those who voted them into office.

But then, health insurance for others is not that important to them except as a political tool. The rich and powerful who are designing this bill for others will retain their own insurance and their freedom to choose

And to add insult to injury, the administration requests that if we receive e-mail from opponents of the plan that seem a little “fishy” (meaning if they disagree) send them to www.flag@whitehouse.gov. Whatever happened to “class’ among the rich and powerful?

It appears that ‘we the people’ have now ceased to be in-charge and have become the lowly peasants and paupers of this King’s Court — A 180 degree turn.

Oh, and Tom, I wouldn't put to much stock in that "limp wrist" insinuation. I am a Progressive Liberal Democrat and PROUD of it. But I can recognize a bully when I see one and the Republicans have promoted that idea for years. But then bullies always run into someone who will stand up to them eventually. I think that time has come.

And I can't believe you have eaten that much Corporate Baloney, Tom Sawyer. The people who worked for those Corporations are what made this country great. But the Corporations have turned greedy. They have no loyalty to the American worker, they are just another expendable item, like a worn out machine, or a broken drill bit. Something to be thrown away and replaced by a cheap foreign worker in another land.

You don't know squat about unions or Henry Ford. Why don't you go to the library and read up on Ford's five dollar a day idea. Check this out. If you worked for Ford's and you were a white anglo saxon protestant you could qualify for the program which was a stock ownership system. In order to qualify your wife had to agree to let Ford's goon squad inspect your house whenever the wished. The windows had to be kept open at exactly 2" 24/7, 365 days a year. The coal dust alone at the Ford Rouge plant coated everything. If they held an inspection and your house was dusty you lost your $5 day. Great scam.

If you were Jewish you would never work for Fords, he was an outspoken anti-semetic. He even sponsored a radio station that spoke against the Jews and supported Hitler.

If you were black you could get a lower paying job in the blast furnace area. Your life expectancy was about 6 years. It was hot, dangerous, evil work.

The Unions changed all of that. Unions were not formed to just negotiate better pay. Their main goal was health and safety and working conditions. And they took the Corporate Jack Boots off of the neck of the American worker and created the true Middle Class in this country. That Middle Class has been under attack by the neo-con fright wing Republicans for over 30 years. One of these days that philosophy of having a two class society of the filthy rich and dirt poor is going to come crashing down around everyones head. Innocent people will suffer even more than they are now. Including you.

Ron, I onnce thought you were just a harmless limp wrist liberal, but now I think it may go beyond that. Your ten miles left of center ideas border on bizzar.

Jesus is a socialist? No, Fidel Castro and Ron Sr. are socialist. I cant believe your deep hatered of American Corperations. American companies are what made us great, not mob run unions! Henry Ford made America great not Teflon Don!

Danny, got to thinking about your 1, 2, 3 responses. Jesus is a Socialist. God is the State. He is the Ruler, to deny that is to deny God as the Creator. Vengence is Mine, saith the Lord. It doesn't belong to people.

The Rich Young Ruler said, "Rabbi, what must I do to be saved?" Jesus said, "Give away all of your riches and follow me". Jesus is a Socialist.

Jesus said, "Give unto Ceasar what is Ceasars (Taxes) and give unto the Lord what is the Lords". Do you hate paying taxes? How about tithes. Jesus is a Socialist.

Jesus went into the Temple and threw the Money Changers out. Jesus is a Socialist.

Jesus healed a group of people of leprosy and told them to go show themselves to the priest to verify that they were clean. Only one returned to praise Him and thank Him. The others were Republicans. Jesus is a Socialist.

"It is harder for a Rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven than for a Camel to crawl through the eye of a needle". I mentioned this to a middle eastern friend of mine once and he said the "needle" is an arch that they train camels to crawl through on its knees. Camels don't like crawling on their knees.

Lazarus was in Abrahams Bosom and the Rich man cried out from the fires of hell begging for Lazarus to dip his finger in water and touch his tongue. When the Rich man was alive he made Lazarus fight with the dogs for a scrap of bread from his table. Lazarus went to heaven, the Rich man went to hell. Jesus is a Socialist. The Meek shall inherit the earth.

"In as much as you have done it unto these the least of my brethern, you have done it onto me". Jesus is a Socialist.

There was no socialism in Communist Russia. Greed prevented it. It was State run eliteism. And it fell apart because of cruelty and greed.

Where is America going? Jesus is a Socialist.

Danny...Socialism..."From each according to their ability, to each according to their need". In order to set up that type of Socialism someone would have to make the decisions concerning ability and need. The problem is greed.

The Fright Wing jumps on the Socialism Band Wagon every time an issue comes up that would benefit the middle and poor classes of our society.

Their alternative...Facism. The ruling elite Corporatist from the Industrial Complex will decide what is best for the workers who provide the labor.

So what do you prefer. Has your life improved under the last 30 years of Corporate take over in America? Has your work life gotten better? Have you enjoyed watching the rich get richer and the poor get poorer? Does it make you feel good to see most of the wealth of this nation placed in the hands of less than 10% of the top population? How long do you think this nation can survive with that climate? Do you think people will finally get fed up and revolt?

Everything to the Fright Wing is black and white. No grey area. So you have your definitions given to you by someone who controls your life because you buy their Corporatist line of baloney.

Jesus was a Socialist. He gave according to His ability, and His needs were provided by those who followed Him. Did He accomplish His goals?

Ron,

Jesus was a true Socialist?

•Socialism

•Pronunciation: \ˈsō-shə-ˌli-zəm\

•Function: noun

•Date: 1837

1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

2 a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state

3 : a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

So Ron, which describes Jesus?

Dana I am glad that you are beginning to see that the parties are no different.

“I don't want to hear anymore about Democrat vs. Republican because I've come to the conclusion they are all FULL OF IT!

I'm seriously beginning to wonder if either party has the ability to represent the people of this nation. The far right spreads lies to keep big business on top of corrupt health care, and the far left panders to the right to get them on board! My question is.... who represents the people?

We have the party of bullies and fear mongers against the party of cowards and politically correct! I am sick of them all! Could the real statesmen please stand up?“

I just cannot agree with your king statement;

“I truly wish he would play the king role to get this health care reform in place!”

That is how dictators and tyrants are created.

GLOP...just so you know, you don't have to give the benefit of your doubt. There is no benefit in doubt.

I am a working man. A member of the middle class. At one time a member of the upper middle class, but now on that fixed income that all seniors who retire learn to live with.

So just remember one thing. All through the Bible God talked about the "Rich Man", the Golden Calf, Baal, and Idol Worship. When the people started following these people and those types of godless ideals they suffered.

Money is a tool, an economic tool, a tool we work to earn. It is not a tool that should be used to the advantage of one group over the disadvantage of another. We are all created equal and are endowed by our Creator...if one group gets to enjoy that endowment while the other bends its back, sheds its tears and blood, and then is told that they should not expect anymore than the Corporate Masters wish to give them there is something wrong with the endowment.

I want Corporations to make a profit. But I do not agree, and never will, that they have a right to make that profit at the cost of the American people who make that profit for them.

To whom much is given, much is required. Under 30 years of Republican influence, starting with Ronald Reagan, the greedy have had free run to stomp all over the working man. The thing that bothers me is that people who are being stomped on by these Corporate greed mongers are arguing in favor of the Corporate greed mongers to stomp on them. To me that is foolish and down right Un-American. Don't ask me to send my sons and daughters into your war for oil and then tell me that you can't afford health care for every American like me.

OK Ron, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt!!!

Being the gentlemen that I am..... Also, I have no doubt that you have good intentions and that you have helped people and you honestly believe that the way you go about doing it is right and Jesus-like.(Being we are suppose to walk in his image)

I, however, happen to not agree with you or your views. But, at the same time, I know it is not right for me to judge you. So, I am going to try and step up to the plate and only disagree with you on princple. Not attack you personally. I will admit that this is going to be hard. You really do irk me with some of your absurd statements. But you do seem to be passionate about them so I'll try to counter your arguments with mine!!!

One thing is certain: You are a Liberal and I am a Conservative. Period. We will never agree on policies but believe me when I tell you, I do care about my fellow man!! So, thanks for all of our spirited debates. Good Buddy

As Always,

p.s.- the friendly wager still stands if you change your mind.......your treat though (i bet)

I don't want to hear anymore about Democrat vs. Republican because I've come to the conclusion they are all FULL OF IT!

HOPE AND CHANGE.... YEAH RIGHT! Hope and change won't be found in a co-op health care plan! Versions of health care reform get crazier by the day, including the insane idea that the insurance companies will keep their word and bring down the costs of health care if we give our tax dollars to help! This is what happens when we try for bipartisan effort! I didn't see the Bush admin trying for a bipartisan effort while driving our economy into the ground funding the Iraq war!

GLOPG...getting ready to leave for church. Christians do that on Sunday Morning...Do you?

You said something about Democrats being in danger of losing their illustrious jobs, like Republicans did in 2006 and 2008. The Fright Wing mess up so bad that even entrenched Repubs lost or decided to not even run again. Ever notice the when Repubs lose the wind up as lobbyist or disappear while Democrats wind up in representing things like childrens health organizations, or aids awareness, or climate change problems? Wonder why that is/

And what you fail to realize is that the attention span of the America people is about 6 weeks, give or take a few days depending on the issue.

GLOP...I think Gov. Perdue is doing what she has to do to get through the economic mess the FRight Wing Republicans got this country in. Every state in the nation is going through the same thing. Republican and Democrat governors.

I never met a Republican yet that I would trust to pay up on a bet. And why on Gods Green earth would I want to bore myself and have dinner with you anyway. So Thanks, but no Thanks.

Do you really think this country wants to go backwards? President Obama has only been in office for 6 months. Things are moving, the economy is picking up, the stock market has improved, and new jobs are being created. Why would we want to go back to the destructive programs of everything for the rich and greedy.

You don't really think that two governors races are going to prove anything do you? And every politician has term limits. It is called the election and votes counted. It is the apathy of the electorate caused by the negative Republicans that have set those clown up. We proved that in 2006 and 2008. We came up with a lot of term limits for your side.

I think you should stick with having dinner with your narrowminded fright wing friends.

Ron and Dana,

What do u think about term limits for all politicians?

Are either one of you happy with our Gov. Perdue??

Also, Dana, the problem with the health care reform is not the Republicans, it's the Democrats that can't agree on it. Don't even try to feed me the bull that President Obama wants a bi-partisian bill. Please spare me!! The attention is all of them Blue Dogs that Ron hates so much. Get it right!!! Every Liberal would love to say that the Republicans are in the way of health care reform, but we know that the Democrats have that super majority and can pass anyhting they want. Constituents, on the other hand, are letting those Democratic Senators and Congressmen know that there illustrious job in Washington may be in JEOPARDY!!!!

Hey Ron, lets make a nice little wager!!! If Democrats win the gubernatorial elections in VA and NJ then I'll take you out to eat wherever you wanna go!!! But if Republicans win, then the treats on you!!! What do u think??

Bonnie... once again you couldn't be more out of touch! If Obama were acting as "king" he certainly wouldn't be continuing his bipartisan efforts which are not helping his cause!

I truly wish he would play the king role to get this health care reform in place! All the pandering to the radicals is a recipe for disaster! Each and every Democrat, including the president, should stand up and refuse to give concession prizes for votes on this bill! As a matter of fact, this bill gets more insane by the day as they try to please the radicals who are running on fear!

Could the real statesmen please stand up?

As for the email thing.... Bonnie, you have such double standards! It's perfectly okay for Bush and his cronies to eavesdrop on our emails for "national security" but GOD FORBID the White House debunk the insane lies being spread about death panels, euthanasia, etc...

Where's the hope of change?

Ron Sr...

GLOP, don't count your chickens before they hatch. You are not use to a President who is a realist. He adjust his position as new information is recieved and verified. Your hero was a bully, no one could tell him anything he didn't want to hear. He didn't want to see flag drapped coffins coming home from Iraq but he had no problem at all sending this country into a war based on lies that he promoted.

President Obama doesn't play checkers, trying to jump his enemies and then wanting to be crowned King like Bush did. President Obama is a chess player. He is moving on the board to win. Check Mate! He set a deadline to reform Health Care knowing that if he didn't Congress wouldn't even discuss the issue. When all the Fright Wing anger and fear mongering finally wears out then the voices of more reasonable people will come through. The critics will burn out and President Obama is going to win.

As far as the NJ and VA governors race...I wouldn't count those chickens either.

Please read the blog before you answer the blog.

I said that there were TWO letters on this blog site, which means that they were published in the editorial or letters to the editor this week from S.C., while he has by passes letters from subscribers here in this county. (Can you not read) How much income does this paper receive from Andrews, S.C.? How much income does this paper receive from Wallace S.C.? If the paper gets a letter from out of state and has no letters from local subscribers, that is one thing, when they sit on letters from locals and print letters from out of state, that is a poor business policy in my opinion! The people of this county are the ones paying for Rick's bacon (pardon the pun) not people from out of state. It doesn't take a math degree, or a business degree to figure out he needs to change the policy of the editorial staff to give top priority to people in this county.

Mary Jane:

I wasn't referring to the lady from SC. I was referring to the same ones who blog on all the issues or opinions printed. I don't think any one party is all right or all wrong, but we need more than 1 party to shake things up and keep them from getting stale. That goes for all aspects of the government from local to state and to federal. We need different people with different views from all walks of life to make the government seem more like one of us and not the "good ole boy's club".

What party would that be Bootsy?

The S.C. Republican party seems to be getting most of the letters printed in the paper
