Soccer referee meeting rescheduled

The City of Rockingham will have a meeting for anyone interested in refereeing soccer at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Parks and Recreation building.

Richmond Pines holding golf clinics

The Richmond Pines Country Club will be conducting golf clinics this month. The men’s clinic will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 7-8 and a kids clinics on Aug. 14-16 from 9 a.m. - noon.

The cost is $60 for members and $70 for non-members.

Event slated for McKinney Lake

State Fish Hatchery

The Richmond County chapter of Duck’s Unlimited will hold an event designed to get young people involved in outdoor activities through its Greenwing program at the McKinney Lake State Fish Hatchery near Hoffman from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sept. 19.

The event is open to children 17 and younger and will include fishing, lunch and a dog training demonstration.

There is a $20 fee, but the total cost includes a year membership in Greenwing.

Rockingham Parks and Recreation

taking soccer signups

The Rockingham Parks and Recreation will accept soccer league registrations until Aug. 17.

To be eligible to participate, a child must be at least four-years-old and not turn 16 on or before Aug. 1.

For city residents, the cost is $20 plus $6 if not currently insured by Parks and Recreation. For non-city residents, the cost is $30 plus $6 if not currently insured by Parks and Recreation.

Hamlet accepting soccer registrations

The City of Hamlet is accepting soccer applications for the 2009 season. The cost is $30 per child and with an additional $10 late fee.

Late registration will continue until Aug. 14.

The leagues will be broken down to 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 and 13-15-year-old age groups. Participants will be placed in a league based on their age as of April 30.

Football tickets on sale for the

2009 RSHS football season

Season tickets for the 2009 RSHS football season are currently on sale.

Tickets may be purchased at Sports World, Medical Center Pharmacy, Family Pharmacy and Mabry’s Drug Store in Hamlet. Reserved seat tickets will only be sold at Sports World.

Last year’s reserved seat holders will have until Aug. 17 to purchase the same seats. After that date, those seats will be available to the public.
