Three people were injured in three separate one-vehicle accidents recently in Richmond County, the N.C. Highway Patrol said.
At 4:15 p.m. July 16, on Wiregrass Road, Rockingham, Alan Michael Short, 21, Motlow Lane, Rockingham, was injured when the patrol said the vehicle he was driving left the roadway, struck a highway sign, went up an embankment, struck trees and overturned.
He was taken to Sandhills Regional Medical Center.
The 2007 Chevrolet he was driving received $6,500 damage; the sign, $300.
The patrol cited Short for exceeding a safe speed.

At 10 p.m. July 17 on U.S. 220 Bypass, Norman, Ryan Bernard Williams, 32, Rummage Packhouse Road, Ellerbe, was injured when the motorcycle he was riding left the roadway, struck a concrete traffic island and overturned ejecting him, the patrol said.
At the time of the accident, the patrol said Williams was being pursued by a Richmond County Sheriff’s deputy.
Williams was taken to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
The 2008 Suzuki Williams was riding received $10,000 damage.
He was cited by the patrol for felony speeding to elude arrest, reckless driving, and felony possession of a stolen vehicle.

At 8:04 a.m. July 22 on Pvt. Walter Kelly Drive, Rockingham, James Richard Spivey, 60, Peace Drive, Rockingham, was injured when the motorcycle he was riding left the roadway and overturned.
He was taken to FHRMH.
His 2007 Honda received $900 damage.
