Mr. Baxley was born to the late Paul and Margie Faircloth Baxley. He was employed with the City of Raeford before he retired in the late 1970s. Then he moved to the Glenwood Rest Home in Rockingham until 2005. He spent his last years in the Hermitage Retirement Home in Rockingham.
Survivors are a sister, Stella Oxendine, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Raeford cemetery, directed by Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave., Raeford. The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside.
