Young participants in the Rock Hounds workshop Wednesday at the Rankin Museum of American Heritage in Ellerbe, engage in a race to see who can overflow a jar of water first with pebbles. It was a demonstration of how a crow uses rocks as a tool to obtain a drink of water, one rock at a time. They also saw a demonstration on how a volcano erupts and started their own personal rock collections while learning all about rocks.
