Thomas Wayne Bittle, 18, Hannah Pickett Avenue, Rockingham, was arrested on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Bond was set at $25,000.
Michael Aaron West, 17, Hannah Pickett Avenue, was arrested on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Bond was set at $5,000.
About 10 p.m. Saturday, a 42-year-old Hispanic man told deputies he was walking on or near 2nd Street Aleo and Mill Road, Rockingham, when he encountered seven people and was assaulted.
At that time, Glidewell said the victim was stabbed with a knife which penetrated in an upward motion into his back about two and a half inches deep but not penetrating any vital organs.
The victim was taken to FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.
The investigation is continuing.

Glidewell reported that the 20A District Attoney’s Office will not charge anyone involved in the shooting death of Greg D. Sanders, 44, 138 Jordyn Lane, Marston, who was killed July 3 in another Jordyn Lane residence.
Glidewell said because of the circumstances involved in the argument and struggle in which Sanders was shot, it was determined that no one would be held responsible.

In another case, Charles Ray Cobbler Jr., 30, Yates Street, Rockingham, was arrested on felony charges of identity theft and obtaining property by false pretense.
His bond was set at $1,000.
Glidewell said a credit card was obtained falsely and $393.89 worth of money and merchandise was obtained.

n On Mill Road at 1st Street, Aleo, a victim on a bicycle told deputies he was struck by a car.
n At a residence on U.S. 1 North, Hoffman, someone did $3,130 damage to two vehicles.
n Someone stole a wallet from a motor vehicle on Mill Road, Rockingham, for a loss of $135 and personal cards.
n At a house on Roberdel School Road, Rockingham, someone stole $500 worth of property.
n From property on N.C. 381 South, Hamlet, someone broke in and stole $5,910 worth of property.
n At property on Main Street, Ellerbe, $890 worth of property was stolen.
n At a house on Ponderosa Drive, Hamlet, someone did $100 damage to a door and stole a $375 television set and $75 DVD player.
n A 45-year-old man told deputies he was struck by a brick thrown at him at a house on Ledbetter Street, Ellerbe.
n On East Church Street, Ellerbe, someone did $5,000 damage to an air-conditioning unit and stole a $2,500 air conditioning unit.
n On Woodridge Drive, Hamlet, someone did $100 damage to a window and stole $200 worth of paint and $45 worth of brushes and rollers.
n Someone did $500 damage to windows at a house on Jackson Street, Ellerbe.
n Deputies are investigating a suspicious fire at a mobile home on Robert Broady Lane, Dobbins Heights, which caused $10,000 damage.
n A 27-year-old woman was hit in the mouth by a suspect on Mill Road at 4th Street, Aleo, Rockingham.
n A handgun valued at $320 was stolen from a house on Rose Street, Dobbins Heights.
n On Fairway Drive, Rockingham. someone did $40 damage to a bug light and $100 damage to flower trays.
n On Rose Street, Dobbins Heights, someone did $300 damage to windows of a house.
n A resident on Salem Drive, Rockingham, told deputies someone charged $957 on a credit card without permission.
n A dog valued at $200 was stolen from a yard on Jessica Avenue, Rockingham.
n At a house on Ledbetter Road, Rockingham, someone did $50 damage to a door.
n At another house on Ledbetter Road, someone did $100 damage to a window in a door.
n Flower pots valued at $50 were stolen from a house on Easterling Avenue, Ellerbe.
n At a house on Calvert Street, Rockingham, someone stole a VCR/DVD valued at $100 and $95 worth of electronic games.
n A 37-year-old woman and 39-year-old man told deputies they were both assaulted by a suspect when hit with fists about their heads and faces.
