The Hamlet Tree and Beautification Group has selected this Dallas Red Crepe Myrtle as its July Tree of the Month. This variety was introduced to a Texas nursery in 1939 from Japan. It flowers for about 70 days from early July. This particular tree is about 45 years old and it grows in the yard of Howard and Geraldine Brigman at 305 Terry St.
