Expectant parents always have lots of questions about prenatal care and childbirth. New parents probably have even more questions about how to care for their newborn.

Richmond County residents can attend the upcoming FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital Pregnancy Fair and get their questions answered.

“It’s important for mothers and the entire family to get a head start when planning for a new baby,” says Jacqueline McKinney, R.N., the hospital’s director of Women and Children’s Services. “The Pregnancy Fair is a great way for people to learn the basics about childbirth and parenting. They will also have a chance to ask experts about more detailed questions or concerns that they may have.”

The July 28, program will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Richmond Memorial Hospital Auditorium. Experts on breastfeeding, car seat safety, pain management and childbirth, and when to call a pediatrician will be on hand to answer questions. Vendors from throughout the Sandhills will also be present with a variety of giveaways to share.

New and expectant parents are invited to participate, and there is no cost to attend. Registration is not necessary.
