(Above) Lavell and Peggy Anderson recently celebrated their golden anniversary.
Wesley Lavell and Peggy Blake Anderson of Rockingham celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 27, 2009, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Fellowship Hall with family members and friends.

They were married June 28, 1959 at Cartledge Creek Baptist Church in Rockingham. They have three children, Mike of Broadway, Virginia, Cris of Rockingham, and Tim and wife, Susanne of Hillsborough. They have three grandchildren, Michael of Broadway, Virginia, Nicol and Isaac of Hillsborough.

The dinner was catered by special friends Marilyn Lampley and Ellen McDonald.

The three-tier anniversary cake, decorated in white with yellow roses, was topped with a golden “50.” The fellowship hall was decorated with daises and yellow roses.

Each guest was given a bag of candy. The candy was replicate of candy that was popular in the 50s.

A CD, narrated by the Andersons’ son, Tim, was presented. It showed Lavell and Peggy as they were growing up, when they met and married, and the children and grandchildren.
