We have already discussed getting involved and making a difference. We have discussed what the Chamber Staff and our Board of Directors needed to accomplish to make 2009 a successful year for our membership. Almost half of the year has passed by and it has come and gone quickly.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every individual, small business and industry for the willingness to maintain your membership in the Richmond County Chamber of Commerce.

As an employee, a director, or ambassador, we are striving to make your membership continue to be worth your support.

Membership totals continue to increase weekly. Our member-to-member discount program is continuing to prosper. Whether you receive 10 percent off of a meal or 10 percent off of an oil change, both you and these businesses are benefitting from being a part of the Chamber of Commerce. If you have not received your discount cards, please contact the Chamber office.

Over the next ten weeks, our nominating committee will be compiling a list of candidates to become members of the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is a volunteer and working board.

All members are welcome to present themselves or others for consideration. Please feel free to contact our Chamber office or a present member of the board, if you feel you would be willing to serve with us.

As I said in February, we are all members of the Chamber of Commerce and we all want the Chamber to succeed.
