Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, in the Rockingham Wesleyan Church with Rev. Philip Huber officiating. Interment will be private. A private memorial service will also be held in Sylva, NC at a later date.
Born January 9, 1936, in Rockingham, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Nellie Gibson Turner. She was a homemaker, and was the Pianist and a lifelong member of the Rockingham Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Arthur Glenn Martin; two sons, Michael Martin and wife Susan of Hamlet, Gerry Martin and wife Vicki of York, SC; two daughters, Glenda Cody and husband Kevin of Pinehurst, Sherry Cooper and husband Elijah of Ellerbe; eight grandchildren, Beth Turner, David Martin, Chris McCormick, Andrew McCormick, Matthew Cooper, Mark Cooper, Ben Cooper, and Jacob Martin; ten great-grandchildren, Michaela Mitchell, Addison Baldwin, Bailey McCormick, Luke McCormick, Chase McCormick, Jayden McCormick, Kyleigh McCormick, Mylie McCormick, Dakota Davis, and Emma Rose Richardson; a brother, Jennings Turner and wife Debbie of Anderson, SC; a sister, Angela Salome and husband Chris of Hamlet; and two faithful pets, Ernie Bird and Barney Glenn.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 at the Rockingham Wesleyan Church, 618 N. Lee St., Rockingham and at other times at the home at 241 Bethany Road, Ellerbe.
