Staff report

Richmond County Board of Commissioners will meet at noon Tuesday at the County Administration Building, 125 South Hancock Street, Rockingham.

A top agenda item will be the 2009 to 2010 county budget which will be presented for approval following a public hearing.

Other agenda items include:

n Progress Energy recently paid the county $60,000 for a right-of-way. Commissioners will be asked to transfer that money to use by the Richmond Economic Development Corporation.

n Three rural fire departments will be receiving additional tax money this year which was collected above what was anticipated in their tax districts.

Northside No. 2 Fire District will receive an additional $1,000; Mountain Creek Fire District, $1,000; and Hamlet Fire District, $7,500.

n Commissioners will be presented a change order for the new judicial center for $15,860 in additional costs. That would leave $162,089.49 in the contingency fund for the project.
