Police arrest Rockingham suspect with copper piping

Rockingham police arrested a man discovered on the scene where copper pipes had been cut from under a house.

Vinh Michael Gazoo, 31, Hamer Street, Rockingham, was arrested on a felony charge of breaking and entering; and misdemeanor larceny after breaking and entering.

Bond was set at $10,000.

Police said someone had crawled under a house on 3rd Avenue, Pee Dee, and removed some $200 worth of copper pipes found in a vehicle at the scene.

Other arrests by police include:

n Terry Alexander Ginter II, 18, Sandy Ridge Church Circle, Rockingham, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of communicating threats. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.

n Sara Ann Powell, 56, Lady Mary Lane, Rockingham, was arrested on felony charges of possession of cocaine and maintaining a place for controlled substances; and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia. She was released on a written promise to appear in court.

n Eddie Bernard Douglas Jr., 28, Eastlake Drive, Rockingham, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of driving while license revoked. Bond was set at $300.

n Christopher Bayliss McMillian, 25, Scaleybark Road, Rockingham, was arrested on warrants for failure to appear in court on charges of resisting an officer and showing cause in a another case. Bond was set at $176.

Incidents reported to Rockingham police include:

n A suspect with a pocketknife robbed a convenience store on East Broad Avenue of $20 worth of cigarettes and $100.

n Richmond County Department of Social Services is investigating the birth of a baby by a 28-year-old woman at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital when a blood test showed positive for opiates.

n An 18-year-old woman told police a suspect slapped and kicked her while she was at a house on North Stewart Street, Rockingham.

n At a residence on Palisades Circle, Rockingham, someone stole $90 worth of personal property from a vehicle.

n Police reported two 14-year-old girls were apprehended at a store at Falling Creek Shopping Center with $90 worth of clothing for which they did not pay.

n At a residence on Cauthen Drive, Rockingham, someone did $200 damage to a door and stole $500 worth of personal property.

n A computer valued at $2,351 and a connecting cord valued at $15 were stolen from an institution on South Lawrence Street, Rockingham.

n At an institution on East Washington Street, Rockingham, someone stole a $100 cell phone.

n A Kernersville Man told police someone had charged $4,200 worth of supplies in his name at a store in Rockingham without his knowledge. He received a bill from the store.

n While a vehicle was parked at a business on East Broad Avenue, Rockingham, someone stole a license plate of unknown value.

n At a store on Fayetteville Avenue, Rockingham, a suspect walked out with $16.18 worth of beer and $4 worth of cigarettes.

about the thief who cut copper water lines from under the house, the homeowner should be given the option to blow his brains out. nothing will be done to the thief.
