Six people were injured in five recent motor vehicle accidents in Richmond County, the N.C. Highway Patrol said.
At 6:50 p.m. May 4 at the intersection of Long Drive and Mill Road in Rockingham, there was a rear-end collision in which one driver was injured, the patrol said.
Debra Gould Douglas, 49, Bunkies Road, Rockingham, was taken to FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital by private vehicle, the patrol said.
The second vehicle left the scene after it struck one driven by Douglas, the patrol said. The investigation is continuing.

At 1:13 p.m. May 6 at the intersection of Millstone and Fire Tower Roads, Ellerbe, two drivers were injured when their vehicles collided, the patrol said.
Cody Robert Ferrell, 21, Fire Tower Road; and Daniel Franklin Walters, 26, Laurel Hill, were both taken to FHRMH.
Ferrell was cited for a yield violation.
The 2000 Ford driven by Ferrell received $3,000 damage; Walters’ 2000 Chevrolet, $3,000.

At 6:25 p.m. on May 11 on U.S. 1 at Philadelphia Drive, Rockingham, Ernest William Morman, 74, Pauline Drive, Rockingham, was injured and taken to FHRMH, the patrol said.
Morman’s vehicle collided with one driven by Deidra Chante Thomasson Wells of Bauersfeld Street, Hamlet.
Morman was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
His 2001 Mitsubishi received $3,000 damage; Wells’ 2007 Cadillac, $4,000.

At 12:20 a.m. May 16 on Game Management Road at Gibson Nursery Road, Matthew Reid Walton, 29, Kings Mountain, was injured when his motorcycle left the roadway and struck a ditch, the patrol said.
He was taken to FHRMH.
The 1998 Honda he was riding received $2,000 damage.
Walton was cited for exceeding a safe speed for conditions.

At 2:04 a.m. May 17, Tiffany Andrea Legrand, 28, U.S. 1 North, Rockingham, was injured on the U.S. 74 Bypass near N.C. 381 when the vehicle she was driving left the roadway, overturned and struck a tree, the patrol said.
She was cited for failure to maintain a lane.
Her 2001 Ford received $3,000 damage.
