A class at Cordova Elementary recently raised money for the Humane Society of Richmond County.

Humane Society Education Coordinator Cindy Chambers (left) and Scooby, the HSRC Bite Prevention canine, pose with Rebecca Harris and her kindergarten class at the school.

Harris' class as well as three other classes donated $226.35 to the Humane Society of Richmond County's Pennies for Puppies program.

The animal shelter urgently needs donations of clean insert-free newspapers as well as animal food  and cleaning supplies.
