An 11-year-old Southern Pines girl lost her life in a fatal one-vehicle accident Saturday.
Denecia Janea Watkins was ejected from a vehicle that drifted off of the road and flipped.
The accident happened more than one mile north of Norman on U.S. 220 at 8:50 p.m. Saturday, according to the Highway Patrol.
Trooper E. R. Jackson investigated the accident.
Alcohol was not determined to be a factor and charges have not been filed at this time.
The car was driven by Deliciia Jean Watkins, 39. Dennis Scott Watkins, 43, was also a passenger in the vehicle.
