Law enforcement officers and officers of the court in Richmond County were running on U.S. 74 Business in Rockingham, Wednesday in the N.C. Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Sgt. John Edwards of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, center, holds the torch as they began their run from the Pee Dee River Bridge to Browder Park in Rockingham for lunch. Before the run, they remembered one of their regular runners, Norvin Forrester, who is in Iraq this year.
