BREAKFAST: Pee Dee United Methodist Church Saturday, May 2, 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Plates, $4 each.

LAWNMOWER RACE: May 2 at Ellerbe Lions Club, Ellerbe. Gate opens 4 p.m. and first race at 6:30 p.m. Food concessions. Admissioin $5 for adults and $2 for school age.

INDOOR YARD SALE: First United Methodist Church, 300 Charlotte St., Hamlet, May 2, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Light breakfast and lunch available.

RELAY FAMILY FESTIVAL: Saturday, May 2, 4-10 p.m., A&P Parking Lot, Hamlet. Games 4-7 p.m. includes Dunking Booth, Bounce House, Necklace Engraving, Hula Hoop Contest, Adult Tricycle Race, and more. Drive-In Movie, “Grease,” at 8 p.m. All proceeds benefit Hamlet Pride Relay for Life Team.

YARD SALE: Someset Court, 632 Freemn Mill Road, Hamlet, to benefit residents’ activities. Featuring food and live music on May 2 beginning at 8:30 a.m.

FARMERS MARKET: Opens May 2 from 8 a.m. to noon on the Square in downtown Rockingham. Fresh local strawberries in abundance. Richmond County Farmers’ Market Association will continue to accept vendor applications through the end of May. 4-H LIFESTOCK CLUB: Meets Tuesday, May 5, at 6:30 p.m. at N.C. Cooperative Extension Office, 123 Carolne St., Rockingham. All members and children ages 5-19 interested in learning about livestock invited. Program on preparing to get your meat goat for upcoming show season. RABIES VACCINATION: N.C. State Law requires all dogs and cats four months of age and over to be vaccinated against rabies each year. All dogs and cats found without current rabies vaccination tags on collars will be subject to impoundment by Richmond County Animal Control. Licensed veterinarians will be at following locations on May 7: Ellerbe Lions Park from 4-5 p.m. and Cordova Fire and Rescue Old Cheraw Hwy, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Dogs should be on leashes and cats in carrying cages. Vaccination fee $6.

CONSTITUTION PARTY: Monthly meeting of Constitution Party of NC Richmond County will be held Thursday, May 7, at 7 p.m. at East Rockingham Senior Citizens Club, 135 Safie 6th St., Rockingham. HOMESCHOOL: Parent Support Meeting: May 7th at 7 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy in Hamlet. The final parent meeting for this school year will focus on planning field trips, special events and educational activites for the 2009-2010 school year.
