Buyer’s remorse won’t be in stock at the Belk May 2 Charity Day Sale, when each purchase will contribute to a worthy cause - at a discount to shoppers.

Local charities started distributing tickets for $5 donations beginning April 24. Donations may also be made at Belk,.

When an individual makes the $5 donation, they will receive a ticket admitting them to the four-hour event at Belk.

From 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. May 2, the store in Rockingham will offer 20 to 50 percent discounts on all items except cosmetics and fragrances, as well as $5 off the first purchase of $5 or more. Those who have a Belk card will receive double points for credit card purchases as well.

In addition, participating customers can register to win one of three $1,000 Belk shopping sprees, and all participating charities and schools will automatically be registered to win a $1,000 donation (a total of three will be awarded).

Charities partnering with Belk include the Richmond County Schools Education Foundation, the Richmond County Rescue Squad’s Rockingham Unit, Highland Acres Church of God, United Way of Richmond County, Helping Hands of Hamlet, Amvets Ladies Auxiliary, Popular Spring Enrichment Program and Relay for Life of Rockingham.
