HISTORICAL SOCIETY: The Aviation History of Richmond County will be the subject at the April 20 meeting of the Historical Society at 7 p.m. at Rockingham City Hall. The construction of the Rockingham Municipal Airport (Foxport) in 1928 and the present airport in 1941 will be presented by Dr. Wingate Williamson, Doyle Haigler, J.B. Howell and T.K. Thrower. Did you know the dirigible Hindenburg passed over Foxport on a regular schedule, the passengers waving to onlookers below? Do you know the location of Foxport? Whence the name?

All dogs and cats found without current rabies vaccination tags on collars will be subject to impoundment by Richmond County Animal Control. Licensed veterinarians will be at following locations on May 7: Ellerbe Lions Park from 4-5 p.m. and Cordova Fire and Rescue Old Cheraw Hwy, :5:30-6:30 p.m. Dogs should be on leashes and cats in carrying cages. Vaccination fee $6.
