Mrs. Peggy Davis Ard, 73, of 17 Safie First St., Rockingham, died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at her home.

Mrs. Ard was born January 10, 1936 in Alamance County, a daughter of the late Jeff and Ola Jones Davis. She was a member of Sandhill Free Will Baptist Church and had been employed by Ledbetter Manufacturing Co. and later at Covington Rest Home. Her husband Kenneth Plasky Ard preceded her in death in 2007.

Surviving are sons, Woody Ard, and Randy Ard, both of Rockingham, Dennis Allen of Hamlet, daughters, Tiny Collins, Teresa Buck, and Amanda Norton, all of Rockingham, Samantha Allen of Hamlet, 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Sandhill Free Will Baptist Church in Laurel Hill with Rev. Willie Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will see friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.

She was a sweet and loving woman.

I know she's in heaven with your father looking down on you all.
