Matthew was born in Richmond County, December 6, 1982, son of Grady Benoist, Jr. and Regina Cashwell Benoist Wallace.
He was an electrician with Beck Electric and a former member of Maple Street Free Will Baptist Church in Rockingham.
Visitation will be Monday, April 6, 2009, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Harrington Funeral Home in Hamlet, NC.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 2 PM at Maple Street Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Frank McQuage officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park in Rockingham, NC.
He is preceded in death by his late father, Grady Benoist, Jr. and paternal grandmother, Edna Deberry Benoist.
Survivors include his mother, Regina Benoist Wallace and stepfather, Ronnie Wallace both of the home; sisters, Caley Nicole Wallace of the home and Candy Mundy of Mooresville, NC; stepsister, Allison Wallace of Southport, NC; niece, Madison Wallace of the home; paternal grandfather, Clyde G. Benoist, Sr. of Rockingham; maternal grandparents, Harvey Cashwell of Darlington, SC and Shelby McLendon of Hamlet, NC; and his fiancee, Kara Fowler of Mooresville, NC.
The family will be receiving friends at the home of his grandfather, Grady Benoist, Sr., 204 Patton Circle, Rockingham, NC.
Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory are serving the Benoist Family.
