The Lady Raiders grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first three minutes of play on a goal from Camilla Villeman off a penalty kick, but Randolph scored the next two goals to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.
Freshman Brittany Hudson tied the game in the second half on a goal, but Randolph went ahead 3-2 on a goal at the 60th minute mark. Richmond (3-5-1) knotted the contest up one more time as junior Katelyn Smith scored a goal with five minutes left to play. According to Richmond coach Bennie Howard, there was no overtime action due to the game being nonconference.
The Lady Raiders return to action at 7 p.m. Monday in a MId-Southeastern Conference matchup at Hoke.
JV fall
The Richmond junior varsity women’s soccer team was blanked 4-0 to Southwest Randolph, which dropped the JV Lady Raiders’ record to 1-3 on the season.
The JV Raiders return to action at 5:30 p.m. Monday in a conference match at Hoke.
