Mrs. Ruth Brooks, 85, of Hamlet, died April 2, 2009 at Sandhills Regional Hospital in Hamlet.

Mrs. Brooks was born January 10, 1924.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. K.W. Brooks.

A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 3 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy located on Hwy. 177 South in Hamlet with Rev. Steve Crews, Rev. Mitchell Roller and Rev. Jerry Smith officiating.

Her surviving family members include a sister Mary Lou Coats of Dunn. Two daughters, Loleata Hayes and Barbara Chappell. Three sons, Terry, Ronnie, and Randy Brooks and numerous grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for memorials to be sent on behalf of Ruth Brooks to the Helping Hands of Hamlet Back Pack Pals Program, Church of God of Prophecy, 615 Cheraw Rd. Hamlet, NC 28345.
