The Hamlet Middle School baseball team crushed Carver 18-3 Thursday afternoon to improve its record to 4-0 on the season.
The Red Rams’ winning pitcher Jake Sears surrendered three hits over five innings. Brad Brown, Robert Williams, Jeremy Smith, Nick Bullard, James Buie, Elijah Goodwin, Richard Lassiter, Cody Wilson and Mike Rush all had one hit for Hamlet in the win.
The Red Rams return to action at 4 p.m. Monday at home against Anson.
Charity softball tourney scheduled
A double elimination charity softball tournament will he hold April 25 at the Park Street Field behind Fairview Heights.
All procees will go to the Backpack Pals program for Richmond County. The cost is $115 per team and a team trophy and hats will be awarded to the winning squad.
