The Richmond County Schools Education Foundation recently presented students at Hamlet Middle School with new laptops for a mobile computer lab. Pictured on the back row, left to right, are teacher Brenda Burr, Hamlet Middle School Assistant Principal Rob Ransom, District Superintendent George E. Norris, Foundation Vice President Scott Brewer and member Jason Stroll; on the front row is teacher Jordan Page, Foundation President Nicole Hayden, and members Jami Smart, Pam Easterling and Bobbie Sue Ormsby. The Foundation was established with the purpose of raising funds that have a direct impact on student learning in a positive and visible way to prepare students for 21st century life. The group is currently working to provide Richmond Senior High School with 30 new laptop computers to boost accessibility to new online testing. The Foundation will hold its 8th annual golf tournament fund raiser on Friday, June 21, 2013, at Longleaf Golf & Country Club, and is looking for sponsors and players to join the cause to support the students of Richmond County. For more information, contact Mallory Brown, Public Information Officer for Richmond County Schools, at 910-582-5860.
