Eighth graders at Ellerbe Middle School celebrated Happy Pi Day with a fun activity. Students gathered into the cafeteria Thursday afternoon to participate in a mathematical exercise. The task was to figure out the surface area of a pie using the Pi equation. After completing the exercise, some students participated in a contest of “who can recite the most digits of pi.” All the students ended the afternoon activity by enjoying a wonderful piece of pie. Two eighth graders are pictured here working on an exercise.
