BENSON — The Richmond Senior baseball team extended its winning streak to four games with a 4-1 victory over West Johnston Friday night.
Bradley Brown and James Buie each registered two hits and two runs batted in to lead the way for the Raiders. Nic Bullard earned his first win of the season, allowing two hits and striking out 10 over six innings. Cody Leviner picked up his second save in as many nights.
“Nic was outstanding tonight against a good team,” Richmond coach Ricky Young said. “Cody came in and shut down a late rally to seal it.”
Richmond (4-1) will return to the diamond 5 p.m. Monday when its travels to Wadesboro to face Anson. The Raiders beat the Bearcats 11-1 Tuesday. Brown had three RBIs in the win, including a two-run home run. Buie got the victory, allowing one hit over three innings.
Busy day for the Raiders
In addition to the baseball team’s game at Anson, four other Raider squads will be in action Monday.
The softball team will look to improve to 4-1 on the season when it also heads west to face Anson. Richmond’s soccer team will play host to Marlboro County, S.C. at 6 p.m. The Raiders defeated the Bulldogs 9-0 Wednesday night. The boys tennis team (2-0) will try to stay undefeated on the season when it travels to East Montgomery.
The boys golf squad will open its schedule at Bayonet at Puppy Creek in Raeford at 2 p.m.
