She was born April 16th, 1937 in Dalton, MA, the daughter of Doris Abare Richards and the late Lawrence Edward Richards. She was preceded in death by her son David Cullen Griffin.
Surviving are her husband, Newell Cullen Griffin Jr. of the home and formerly of Pinewood, SC; a daughter, Sheryl Griffin Loehr and her husband, Tom Loehr of Rockingham, NC; her mother, Doris A Richards of Rockingham, NC; a brother, David Richards and his wife, Kay Richards of Spring Grove, VA; 6 grandchildren, Joshua Loehr and Ashley Loehr of Aberdeen, NC, David Griffin, II of Spring Hill, FL, Jason Griffin and his wife, Alexandra of Ruskin, FL, Nathanial Griffin of Pinellas Park, FL and Ian Griffin of Bradenton, FL.
Mrs. Griffin graduated from USC in 1964 with a BS degree in Pharmacy. She practiced in the Richmond County area from 1975 until her retirement in 1999.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28th in the Pinewood Cemetery, Pinewood, SC, with the Reverend Frank Keels officiating.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
