Dear Editor,
Do you think Richmond Senior High School is being operated right, why isn’t students to happy about going to school. Coming from a student who attend the school Richmond Senior High have turned into a school of greatness to should I say an Institute of Student Discrimination.
The teachers Principals seem to no longer care about students and their education. Why put principal’s into a High School who have never been in a High school setting, I believe the Richmond County School system should Hire Administration that have been in a High School setting and not an Elementary school, as a student at Richmond Senior I wish Mr.Corey Satterfield would return and get things back together.
The new Admin. at that school have that place out of transition , why treat kids as if they are in Middle school or Elementary school and let them be young adults. I no longer feel secure at this school, If it wasn’t my senior year my parents would move me to a different district. The school need to have a 360 and that would take admin, with experience from a High School setting.
They no longer care about students, the reason why i say that is because they say things like “I don’t care” or “I am getting tired of ya’ll and slams their office door. What must our parents do to have our voice heard cause it seems as if it need to be heard.

Definition of ILLITERATE
1: having little or no education; especially : unable to read or write
2a : showing or marked by a lack of familiarity with language and literature b : violating approved patterns of speaking or writing
3: showing or marked by a lack of acquaintance with the fundamentals of a particular field of knowledge
So as you can plainly see, just because a person can read and/or write, does not mean they are not illiterate.
I respect your opinion, however, "bear" and "bare" are not spelled the same; the sound is same and as you stated have different meanings. The schools cannot revive corporal punishment....too many civil rights and abuse laws. Besides, if a teacher physically had contact with a student...well, another reason for the student to retaliate. Parents do have responsibility to teach their children to have respect, manners, and instill good habits. Sadly, once peer pressure begins in a school environment, the child is responsible to make good decisions. All the blame should not fall on the parents or the teachers. In part, this contributes to the attitude of the upcoming generation. Our parents and grandparents undoubtedly thought the same about our generation. People succeed or fail. Sometimes it centers on opportunity. Sometimes it is because of determination to achieve a better outcome.
Education is a two-way street; students and teachers working toward a common goal. Admittedly, administrators and teachers may not have the mindset of the current generation, which tends to be self-centered. I am of the old school and as I read your letter I was taken aback by your poor writing and communication skills. It appears that you have not acquired much knowledge from you English classes. I encourage you to concentrate on learning. Job and college applications reveal much about the applicant. My impression of you is that you have insight but lack the education to communicate it intelligently. Leave the "politics" to others and concentrate on gaining the knowledge you need to improve your life. Best of luck.
