Merlene Duncan McDougald, 81, of Jackson Springs formerly of Rockingham, died Thursday, January 31, 2013 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. She was born July 6, 1931 in Columbus County, a daughter of the L.D. and Gertrude Britt Duncan.

Mrs. McDougald was a homemaker, owner and operator of the Holiday Restaurant with her husband Zeb.

She was preceded in death by her husband Zeb McDougald and a son Mike McDougald.

Graveside service will be conducted Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Eastside Cemetery with Rev. Don Dawkins officiating.

Surviving, A daughter, Kathy McDougald Sutton and husband Johnny of Jackson Springs. A sister, Edith Duncan of Lumberton.

The family will be at the home of her daughter 1650 Jackson Springs Rd. Jackson Springs, NC 27281.
