The Southern Building Material Association’s Annual Building Products Buying Show is being held at Showplace in High Point, N.C., on Feb. 6 and Feb. 7.

Jane Gillespie, coordinator of the show, said that the show is “only for college students who are studying in a field related to the show.”

This year’s show, called “Made in America,” is free to students who must pre-register to attend the show.

The theme will “focus on made in America products,” Gillespie said. She said the committee decided on the theme last year and it will showcase 70 exhibitors who have products that are made in America.

For more than a decade, High Point has hosted the show.

On Feb. 6, Michael Walden will present the show’s keynote address entitled “America’s Economic Future.”

Walden is a Professor at North Carolina State University and a member of the Graduate Economics faculty with The Poole College of Management.

He will cover the national economic outlook which will include trends on growth, employment, consumer finances, inflation and interest rates. A special focus will be given to the housing market.

The show will be Feb. 6 from 12:30 to 5 p.m. and on Feb. 7 the show will be from 9 a.m. until noon.

The Southern Building Material Association’s mission is to serve the lumber and building material industry by offering programs and services to help our members better manage their businesses and help train them and their employees in industry specific areas.

For more information or to register for seminars, call the Southern Building Material Association at 1-800-849-1503.
