Kacin Marie Menendez and Daniel James Mercer of Kissimmee, Fla., announce their engagement and upcoming union.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Steven Joseph Menendez of Southern Pines, and Judy Drtina Menendez of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of the late Joseph and Rose Marie Menendez, Claire Dawson of Pinehurst, and the late Robert Drtina. Kacin is a 2006 Honors graduate of Union Pines High School and a 2010 graduate of Northwestern University in Chicago, Ill., with a B.S. degree in theatre. She is currently employed as a Equestrian theatrical performer at Arabian Knights in Kissimmee, Fla.
The groom-elect is the son of Edward Laurence “Larry” and Ann Doby Mercer of Hamlet. He is the grandson of Eva Estell Mercer and the Lee Mercer, the late James Lacy and Carry Mae Steen Doby of Hamlet. Daniel is a 2002 graduate of Richmond Senior High School, a 2005 graduate of Sandhills Community College and a 2009 graduate of UNC-Pembroke. He is a member of Alpha Sigma Lambda and has a B.S. degree in Health Promotion and is a certified personal trainer. Daniel is currently employed at Arabian Knights in Kissimmee, Fla.
A wedding is planned for 3:30 p.m. on May 3, 2013, at Knot’s Landing Beachfront Estate at Ocean Isle Beach.
