The 2012 Bouncing Baby Bottle campaign, hosted by the Pee Dee Crisis Pregnancy Center, located in Hope’s Doorway, ended with great success according to Terri Robinson, director of the pregnancy center.

The BBB campaign gives churches, organizations, and individuals an opportunity to donate money to the center. This campaign is the only major campaign that the center does throughout the year, Robinson said.

The 2012 campaign raised more than $12,000, she said. Baby bottles were given out to churches and organizations and then filled with money by individuals. The bottles were then given to a representative from the church or organization and turned into the center.

Pee Dee Crisis Pregnancy Center is a non-profit organization that provides resources to individuals who are facing pregnancy.

Robinson said that the money raised by the 2012 campaign will go toward baby care items, items for the mother, and other materials used by the center to help women and men.

Among the churches and organizations that participated in the 2012 campaign included Calvary Church, pastor Scott Connors; Cartledge Creek, pastor Jason Lutz; Church of God of Prophecy Hamlet, pastor Steve Crews; Cordova Baptist, pastor Bill Monroe; Ellerbe First, pastor Jim Brown; First Presbyterian Ellerbe, pastor James Watson; Faith FWB, pastor Terry McDaniel; Faith Missionary, pastor Ernie Walters; Fellowship Ellerbe, pastor Kevin Thompson; Freedom, pastor Ronnie McLean; Gibson Baptist, pastor Greg Icard; Kings Gate, apostle Eddie McLean; McDonald, pastor Alex Perakis; Mt. Carmel FWB, pastor Mike Childers; Mt. Olive, interim pastor A.B. Brown; Pine Grove, pastor Corey Wilson; Roberdel, pastor Chris Smith; Temple Baptist, pastor Joey Byrd and Zion United Methodist Church.

The Pee Dee Crisis Pregnancy Center provides basic services including pregnancy testing, peer counseling, parenting classes, baby furnishing, car seats, clothing for the baby and the mother, abstinence education and a support group for parents that have lost a child for any reason.

All of the services provided are free and confidential. If you are in need of services or looking for a mission project, contact the center at 910-895-6616. Hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The center is located at 110 N. Lawrence St., Rockingham.
