She was born February 12, 1947, in Richmond County, a daughter of Velva Grant Hamilton and the late Cliff Hamilton. She served in the Women’s Army Corp and later worked as a paralegal in a law office. Brothers Steve and Bucky Hamilton preceded her in death.
Surviving are husband Robin Smith of the home; son Douglas Smith of the home; daughter Robyn Smith of Oklahoma; mother Velva G. Hamilton of Cordova; brothers Pete Hamilton of Jamestown, NC, Rick Hamilton of Hamlet, Harry Hamilton of Cordova; sister Sue Phillips of Rockingham, and 4 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 6:00- 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. Interment will be private at a later date.
