Men robbed walking along railroad tracks

Two men were assaulted and robbed in separate incidents along the CSX Transportation railroad tracks recently in Hamlet, police said.

Four men approached a victim who was walking the tracks in South Hamlet.

He told police one of the men put a gun to his back and told him to give him his wallet and other items.

He lost a $35 cell phone, $150 necklace, $20 wallet, $39, $20 knife and a $100 jacket to the thief.

In the other incident, a man was near the tracks on Lackey Street when two men came up to him with a knife and demanded his wallet.

After he gave them his wallet, the victim told police they hit him.

His loss was $22 worth of personal property.

Arrests by Hamlet police include:

n Steven Deon Wall, 18, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of driving while license revoked. Bond was set at $500.

n Terrence D. Marks, 22, Spring Street, Hamlet, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of assault on a female. He was held in Richmond County Jail until a judge set bond.

n Phillip Johnathan Stewart, 44, Henderson Street, Hamlet, was arrested on two orders for arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of driving while license revoked. Bond was set at $1,000.

n Christina Danielle McKenna, 31, Beeler Avenue, Hamlet, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of communicating threats. She was released on a written promise to appear in court.

Incidents reported to Hamlet police include:

n Two truck tires were slashed while the vehicle was parked at a residence on Rollins Avenue, Hamlet, causing $300 damage.

n At a restaurant on King Street, Hamlet, someone stole a $200 television set and $150 worth of furniture.

n Someone did $500 damage to the window of a store on West Main Street, Hamlet.

n Someone did $1,000 damage each to three vehicles parked at a residence on Scotland Avenue, Hamlet, by scratching them and stole $40 worth of tire lugs. One vehicle window was broken.

n A bottle was thrown through a window of a store on King Street, Hamlet, causing $900 damage.

n Someone did $400 damage to the windshield of a vehicle parked at a business on Hamlet Avenue, Hamlet, and stole $85 worth of property.
