The Rockingham Lions Club continues to raise funds to complete its two new softball fields on Highway 220 North, and to support various Lions’ charities.

Rockingham Lions Club held its first Corn Hole Tournament and Golf Ball Drop recently. Joey Jones was the winner of the $1,000 prize for the Golf Ball Drop, with Greg Bates collecting the $100 prize.

Andy Ashworth and Shot Allen were first place winners in the Corn Hole Tournament and pocketed the $400 grand prize. Proceeds from the first “Roar At The Rock” were more than $2,000.

Earlier in October, the annual BBQ and Auction raised more than $5,000. This year plates were delivered at lunch to local businesses as well as served before the auction. Items were donated by local businesses and individuals for the auction.

Local club members are currently selling pecans as they have for more than 20 years during the holidays. Anyone needing pecans for holiday baking can contact any Rockingham Lions Club member or call 910-894-2807 or 910-895-5787 to place an order. Plain one pound bags of shelled halves are available for $9 each and bags of chocolate covered halves are sold for $10 each.

The Rockingham Lions would like to thank all those who have donated to these fund raisers and have supported the local club in all the efforts to bring change in the community.
