John Lewis Bostic, 60, of Gibson, was killed in an accident at the intersection of Highway 381 and Scholl Shankle Road in Hamlet, on Tuesday, according to the N.C. State Highway Patrol.
Bostic was traveling on a moped, northbound on Hwy. 381, around 8 a.m. when he attempted to make a left turn onto Scholl Shankle Road. A Pontiac sedan traveling in the same direction tried to pass Bostic in a no passing zone when the vehicle struck Bostic, Highway Patrol said.
Information on the driver of the sedan has not been released due to pending investigation.
