The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested Chance Jivon Mix, 32, of Jerry Street, Sumter, S.C., for trafficking opiates, selling/delivering a schedule II substance and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, on Nov. 6, according to arrest reports. Mix allegedly sold pills to officers in the parking lots of businesses on two separate occasions. He was charged and placed in Richmond County Jail under a $100,000 secure bond.
In an unrelated case, William Andrew Sanders, 28, of 2nd Ave. Aleo, Rockingham, was arrested for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm on Nov. 13, according to lawmen. Sanders was allegedly in possession of a .22 caliber firearm when he was also served with failure to appear in court warrants. He was charged and placed in Richmond County Jail under a $10,000 secure bond.
Michael Allen Pack, 25, of Church Street, Ellerbe, was arrested on two counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, felony larceny and attempted felony larceny, on Nov. 2, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Pack allegedly was attempting to steal items from a location on Huey Drive in Marston. He was charged and released on his own recognizance to appear in court.
Duane Joseph Calhoun, 24, of Chestnut Lane, Rockingham, was arrested for conspiring to sell/deliver a schedule II substance on Nov. 6, according to lawmen. Calhoun allegedly conspired with another person to sell prescription pills. He was charged and placed in Richmond County Jail under a $500 secure bond.
Carolyn Faye Byrd, 42, of South Long Drive, Rockingham, and Aaron Herson Steele, 22, of Long Drive, Rockingham, were arrested for assault with a deadly weapon on Oct. 27, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The pair were charged for an alleged assault on Collins Church Road. They were placed in Richmond County Jail under a $10,000 secure bond.
Arrest reports published in the Richmond County Daily Journal are copied from local law enforcement records. Reports include both arrests and criminal summons such as citations. The Daily Journal lists them all as arrests. People charged are presumed innocent until determined to be guilty by a court of law.
