Mrs. M. Beatrice “Bea” Bridges Dixon, 68, 161 Marks Creek Lane, Hamlet, NC, went to be with her Lord, surrounded by her loving family at her home, Sunday, March 15, 2009.

Mrs. Dixon was born in Scotland County, August 21, 1940 daughter of Marion D. Bridges and Myrtle Owens Bridges.

She was a member at The Church of God of Prophecy at Hamlet and was very active in her church until her illness. She also worked for several years at Sandhurst Hosiery Mill and was the “Mother” of the group “The Dixon Family” which sang as a family for over fifteen years.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Harrington Funeral Home from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at East Rockingham Church of God of Prophecy on Flowers Street in Rockingham, with Bishop Mackie Walters, Bishop Steve Crews and Rev. Tony Clewis officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park in Rockingham.

Survivors include her husband Hayden Dixon of the home; daughter, Donna D. Whitley and husband Charles of Rockingham,NC; sons, Dean Dixon and wife Linda, Dale Dixon and wife Robin, Daniel Dixon, all of Rockingham & Doug Dixon and wife Lori, and Darin Dixon and wife Christy, all of Hamlet,NC; eleven grandchildren, Jason Dixon and wife Naomi, Adam Dixon, Kim Bowden and husband Chuck, all of Rockingham & Whitney McLaurin and husband Bryan, Chris Whitley, Zac Gerald, Zoe Dixon , Seth Dixon, Bryce Dixon, Braxton Dixon and Carson Dixon, all of Hamlet; three great-grandchildren, Abigail Dixon, Tristin McLaurin and Gage McLaurin; one sister, Dorothy B. Danos of Laurinburg, NC; five brothers, Alfred Bridges and Ansel Bridges, both of Laurinburg, NC, Harold Bridges of Marrero, LA, Cecil Bridges of Maxton, NC and Billy Bridges of Stem, NC.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Amir Darwish for his compassionate care he gave during her illness.
