The Richmond spring sports’ schedule Monday was washed away again because of rain. Already this season, there have been three varsity baseball games, two junior varsity baseball games, one varsity and junior varsity softball game, two varsity women’s soccer games and two golf matches that have been canceled due to the weather.

Raiders’ games rescheduled

The Richmond’s baseball team game versus Jack Britt will now be pushed to Wednesday at Raider Field starting at 7 p.m. The game was canceled this past Friday due to rain. Both teams attempted to make it up Monday, but rain continued through the weekend and forced the game to be delayed again. Richmond’s nonconference date this past Saturday at Audrey Kell will be made up on Saturday, April 25.

The Raiders (3-2) are scheduled to play their first Mid-Southeastern Conference game today at Westover starting at 7 p.m. The JV Raiders (3-0) will host the Wolverines today at Raider Field beginning at 5 p.m.

The Richmond women’s soccer team game against Jack Britt at Raider Field has been delayed until Thursday at 7 p.m. Rain in the forecast kept the game from being played Friday and Monday as well.

The Lady Raiders (0-1) travel to Westover today in their first conference contest of the season beginning at 7 p.m. The JV Lady Raiders make their 2009 season debut when they host the Lady Buccaneers on Thursday starting at 5:30 p.m.

The Richmond men’s golf team’s third conference match at Stryker Golf course in Fayetteville will take place on Thursday starting at 1 p.m. The Raiders golf team has finished third in their first two matches of the season.

Softball and tennis play today

The Richmond softball team returns to the field today to play at Westover in its first conference matchup of the season at 6 p.m. The Lady Raiders have evened their record to 2-2 after dropping their first two games to begin the season. Richmond hasn’t played since defeating South View 5-0 on March 9. The JV Raiders (2-0) will host the Lady Wolverines today at 5 p.m.

The Richmond men’s tennis team travel to Scotland today in a conference match beginning at 4 p.m. The Raiders improved their record to 2-2 after prevailing 5-4 over Douglas Byrd Thursday.

Track is back Thursday

The Richmond men’s and women’s track team will participate in their second conference meet on Thursday at Jack Britt High School beginning at 4 p.m. The Raiders men’s team finished first out of four teams in their first conference meet of the season, while the women placed third.
