Dear Editor,

The Christian church is set up to be deceived.

Matthew 24:24 states, “For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders; in so much that if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” I speak about the Mormon Church and their teaching that the “Heavenly Father” and “Jesus Christ” that they worship is the same Hebrew God (Jaweh) that I worship. A comparison of the Mormon and Christian “scriptures” plainly displays the difference.

The “Christian scriptures” I refer to are the “Holy Bible.” The “Mormon Scriptures” are more extensive and includes the “Holy Bible” as translated by Joseph Smith, “The Book of Mormon,” “The Pearl of Great Price” and “The Doctrines and Covenants.” Together, these four books are considered by Mormons to be the “complete” and “authoritative” word of God. We hear a lot about “The book of Mormon,” but not so much about the other two. From these texts, I make my conjuncture.

What does Jesus say about his father? In John 4:23, Jesus states: “God is spirit.” What does Jesus say about spirit? In Luke 24:39b, Jesus says, “For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” Now, let’s look at what the Mormon scriptures say about God, the Heavenly Father.

According to “The Doctrines and Covenants,” (D and C) 130:20a, “The father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s, the son also, but the Holy Ghost has a personage of spirit.” Therefore, this conclusion follows: The God that the Mormons worship does have a body of flesh and bones. The Hebrew God that I worship has a father that is spirit. The Jesus that the Mormons worship has a father who has a body of flesh and bones.

From these statements, the natural deduction comes. How can the Mormon God and the Hebrew God be the same? How can the Mormon Jesus and my Jesus be the same? The truth is, they are not. However, mainline Christians are ready to agree that we (Christians and Mormons), do worship the same God.

Now that you have been shown the truth, it is between you and God what you do with it.

Mr. gales you are exactly right. Mrs. Wheeler believes in works, it's amazing how some can turn scriptures to meet their need. As Dr. Charles Stanley said, "you cannot blame one President for America's problems, you must point to taking God out of our country's affairs." We wanted the Lord out of our business looks at this country. Same -sex and abortions cannot be blamed on President Obama, these are acts that people are committing. 4000 babies murder a week, sex out of wedlock (act of sin), not the White House. The White House cannot make us stop our morale decline only Christ can if and when we allow Him to change our hearts and save us.

Mrs. Wheeler, We don't have to read a bible to hear and see false prophets all we have to do is read these threads.

Matthew 24:24 states, “For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders; in so much that if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

Leviticus 20:13 states - "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads." (NIV)

One believes and has promoted same-sex marriages and signed a bill legalizing it although he claims to be a Christian. He joined a church because he was told early on that he must if he were to be effective in his political agenda, which was to destroy American values and principles and remake America into the nation that he desired it tobe.He has criticized America to other nations. He has also ridiculed those who "cling to their bibles" Are these the actions of a Christian?

The other is a Morman who has taken meals to sick neighbors He has helped people in trouble and given to the poor. He has remained constant in his faith and never wavered. He has never criticized his country In addition he had the intelligence to become wealthy and he did it with integrity. Taking these things into consideration which has obeyed the will of God? It isn't the denomination we align ourselves with-it's our actions that matter.
