Democratic Party not friendly to Christians

Dear Editor,

It is by now common knowledge throughout North Carolina that “welcome baskets” sent by some Christian churches in Charlotte to delegates were rejected by party leadership. Their reason, the values of the churches concerning abortion were diametrically opposed to the values of the Democratic Party.

It is also common knowledge that there was strong support in the Democratic Party to take the name of “God” out of the platform. The president canceled the National Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C. Neither Bibles nor any religious material are to be given to patients in Walter Reed Hospital. According to Lt. Colonel Stacey L. Maxey, Afghanistan, “I’m free to express myself if I am a homosexual, but not if I’m a Christian.”

The president announced, in Egypt, that the United States is no longer a Christian nation. More accurately, he should have said that the United States has a majority of people who declare themselves Christian but few who act like Christians. It’s time for all Christians to stand powerfully for our God and the Christian nation our God raised up!

There are, believe it or not, quite a number of Christian denominations (about 500) who have returned to observing His Sabbath and the Torah Jay. Go to: therefinersfire.org/lets_gat_biblical.htm

This is just one example. Here is another Eliyah.com who has gone from using the KJV to recommending and using "The Scriptures" by The Institute for Scripture Research.

An excellent book for seekers of the Truth is "Come Out of Her My People" by CJ Koster. It can be purchased on Amazon.com or fossilizedcustoms.com.

Mr. Shutt, When you wrote this article not one word in it was true. President cancelled the National Day of Prayer: A lie spread by the hundreds of right-wing bloggers. The act of banning bibles was never enforced and is not true now. This is a lie.

The biggest lie of all was that President Obama said this was no longer a Christian nation when he actually said it was no longer "just" a Christian nation and this is true. We are a Jewish nation, a Islamic nation, a Catholic nation and to burst your bubble it is also the nation of non-believers. You would be best served if you did not rely on Fox News and the rightwing bloggers who will post anything of which 99.999 percent is wrong

Telltales - I can't find the lie here. Obama absolutely canceled the day of prayer that was held on on the steps of the capitol that President Bush had set aside for July - I forgot which day.

However, Obama did declare May 5, 2011 prayer day, as Fox News announced. "THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim May 5, 2011, as a National Day of Prayer" And telltales, I know you must watch Fox a lot because you are always criticizing them. FN employ Democrats, Liberals Republicans and Independents. On issues, they don't just give one side - they give both and allow the people to decide. They are indeed 'fair and balanced'

something Chris Matthews doesn't do. Why? because Democrats gives him a thrill up his leg, or at least Obama does. For most people, however, Obama gives them a chill up their spine.
