Robert and Janet Wood
Robert and Janet Wood of Hamlet, celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary and Robert’s 82nd birthday on Oct. 13, 2012.
They married in Canton, Ga., on Oct. 13, 1949. They moved to Hamlet in 1959. Robert retired from the railroad in 1986.
The Woods have three children, Mike and wife, Shirley of Wilmington, Connie and husband, David of Wake Forest and Walter and wife, Stacey of Rockingham. They also have eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The couple celebrated with a family cookout. Flowers were placed in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Hamlet in honor of the couple.
