Our forefathers fought, bled and died for this precious freedom

Dear Editor,

The Democratic Party has become one that no longer honors God.

At the DNC this year they voted to not use the name God. Due to pressure from members of their own party they added God back to their platform. In this country we have enjoyed over 200 years of religious freedom, but our religious freedom is under attack by this administration. Let me point out just a few attacks:

• The HHS mandate tells religious institutions that they have to pay for abortions and contraception. This is a violation of our 1st amendment right.

• The Conscience Protection Act has been eliminated by this president. This means that doctors and nurses who work at federally funded hospitals which are pro-life, can no longer opt out from performing abortions or other practices they consider to be immoral. This is a violation of our 1st amendment right. John Madison, father of the Constitution, described conscience as “the most sacred of all property.”

• Obama invites Muslims to the White House and celebrates Ramadan, but doesn’t have time for pastors and religious leaders to celebrate the National Day of Prayer. At the same time he invites MLB and NFL teams that win the World Series and the Super Bowl to the White House to celebrate.

There are public schools that can no longer sing Christmas carols pertaining to the real meaning of Christmas. In New Jersey, second graders were taught to sing the song “Jesus Loves the Little Children” in which Jesus’ name was replaced with Obama’s name. They were also taught to sing a song about Obama to the tune of “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” These are just a few of the many attacks on Christianity. I for one am outraged by these attacks.

Our forefathers fought, bled and died for this precious freedom. We deserve better leadership in Washington, D.C. We do not need four more years of this presidency. Folks, let’s join together and vote this president out of office. We the people have the power to do so. If he is re-elected, America will face the most difficult times we have ever seen. If you think that it is bad now, give him four more years and we haven’t seen anything yet. A word to us seniors — remember that Obama put a freeze on our Social Security checks for two years. What would stop him from doing it again? He has failed the American people. Like Clint Eastwood said, if he’s not doing the job, we have to let him go. Let’s let him go on November 6th. God bless you and God bless America.

Marvin Blake

Kevin1, I am sorry, but when you start a thread with the wrong title of the bill I don't read anymore of it.

I did hear there were a flood of applications from doctors at the WalMart seeking a new field.

telltales, you are really clueless when it comes to Obamacare. I suggest you really sit down and read all of it. I'm in the healthcare field and there are MAJOR changes that will take place, none of them are good. We have doctors that are looking to get out of the field, there will be no incentive for them to continue their practice.

BScholar, Unlike the Republicans, the Democrats have decided to act like Christians instead of just talking like one. We love the poor as much as the rich, however we do not harbor any ill-will toward the very wealthy, they are rewarded now and will get their rewards after they pass from this earth.

Democrats acting like Christians? tell. Christians don't protest against God

as the Dems did in Charlotte. Christians don't promote murdering the unborn. Christians do not ridicule those who cling to their Bibles as Obama did early on in his presidency. These are a few out of many and the list is getting longer Obama just promoted same-sex marriage. That'ssomething that even animals would never resort to. I really believe that you would be horrified by these actions if Obama were white. We cannot condone the very things that our Founders and our Bible put in place just because the person who is promoting these things are our nationality, not even if it's our own family.

There was a typographical error in my letter. It says John Madison and should have been James Madison, founder of our Constitution, described conscience as "the most sacred of all property."

Marvin,

Your letter is perfect for inclusion to Bill Maher's "Dispatches from the bubble."

Mr. Blake, First of all the HHS mandate does not require religious institutions to pay for abortions. Second of all there was no John Madison who founded this country. However, there was a slaveowner named James Madison who did. The word God is not in our Constitution.

Mitt Romney will require women to let the legislature decide what care and when they receive it. Romney will require all people to attend a Mormon class for non-beleivers. He is going to give each senior a voucher instead of Medicare to get healthcare. Mitt Romney will not put a freeze on your social security check he will eliminate it.

All you neo-cons keep bringing up our forefathers as if they were bringing God's word to the citizens. Most of the signers of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence were slave holders and also did not think women should be allowed to vote.

So,if you want a politician in Raleigh or Washington to decide what healthcare you get and when, then vote for Romney and Ryan. You will get what you deserve.

Thank you telltales for your observation. I did not say that John Madison was founder of the country but father of the Constitution. This was a typographical error and most students of history would know that. It was not John but James Madison who was the father of our Constitution - not the country.

Mitt Romney will not eliminate our social security check.
