Billy Boyd Hodges, 75, of 370 Boyd Lake Road, Hamlet, died, Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at his residence.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Harrington Funeral Home with the funeral beginning at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park.
He was born Nov. 6, 1936, in Dunn, son of Boyd Hodges and Ila Pauline Strickland Hodges.
Hodges previously worked as a truck driver for Dewitt Trucking. He was a veteran of the US Army, was a member of Hamlet VFW.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, the late Helen Marie Turnage Hodges; and a brother James Hodges.
Survivors include his daughters, Wanda Caulder of Oakboro, Rebecca Jones of Norwich, Conn., Doris Paxton of Rockingham, Jacqueline McLester of Rockingham and Paulette Hodges of Dunn; son, Billy Hodges Jr. of Dunn; brother, Willis Edward Hodges of Dunn; sisters, Judy Strickland and Jackie Turner both of Dunn; fourteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
