Edith Almond Grant, 64, of 1114 Osborne Road, Rockingham, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, in the FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, in the East Rockingham Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Gerald Goins officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Wallace, S.C.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the East Rockingham Congregational Holiness Church, and other times at the home.

Edith was born in Stanly County, on Jan. 3, 1948, to the late Claude and Catherine Gilbert Almond. She was retired from textiles and had worked in food service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Grant, two brothers, Gary and W.C. Almond, and a grandson, Brandon Almond.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Almond of Rockingham and Jessie Grant of Asheboro; a daughter, Sharon Grant of Rockingham; a brother, Wade Almond of Shallotte; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Russell-Marks Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family.
