McCaskill is the son of Victor and Deborah McCaskill of Rockingham. He is the grandson of Ida McNeill and the late Fred McNeill of Rockingham and Harold and Frankie McCaskill of Robbins.
McCaskill, a 2004 graduate of Richmond Senior High School, is presently working with FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital and pursuing a career in communications.
